Breed Care Guide
The British Longhair shares the sturdy British build and generally calm temperament of the British Shorthair, with a semi-long coat that needs a more regular grooming routine.
Coat and daily comfort
Comb the coat two to three times a week, adjusting the frequency for the individual coat and any tangles behind the ears, under the legs, across the chest and around the hindquarters.
Provide fresh water, ventilation and cool resting areas, and check the skin while grooming so coat or skin changes are noticed early.
Body condition and ongoing care
Use measured portions, daily play and routine veterinary care to support a healthy body condition.
Keep the kitten’s own parent, health and handover records with your veterinarian so future care follows its documented history.
