More about the kitten
Breed Care Guide
The British Longhair shares the sturdy British build and generally calm temperament of the British Shorthair, with a semi-long coat that needs a more regular grooming routine.
Coat and daily comfort
- Comb the coat two to three times a week, adjusting the frequency for the individual coat and any tangles behind the ears, under the legs, across the chest and around the hindquarters.
- Provide fresh water, ventilation and cool resting areas, and check the skin while grooming so coat or skin changes are noticed early.
Body condition and ongoing care
- Use measured portions, daily play and routine veterinary care to support a healthy body condition.
- Keep the kitten’s own parent, health and handover records with your veterinarian so future care follows its documented history.
