Munchkins are playful, sociable cats best known for their short legs. They are agile and active — they simply need a home set up to suit their height.

Body & Build (Most Important)

• Short legs mean they jump lower and reach high surfaces less easily. Set up the home for them: a low-entry litter box, food and water at floor level, and pet steps or ramps up to favourite perches.
• Keep them lean — extra weight puts added load on the spine and joints.

Coat & Grooming

• Munchkins come in short-haired and long-haired coats. Groom to the coat: short coats weekly; long coats 3–4 times a week to prevent matting.

Temperament & Living With Them

• Outgoing, confident and kitten-like well into adulthood. They are very people-oriented and usually get along well with other pets.

Health Watch-points

• Generally healthy, active cats. Responsible breeders monitor their lines for uncommon spinal/chest conditions. Keep an ideal weight and attend routine vet checks. Refer to the cattery handover and your vet for your kitten's records.
