Munchkins are active, sociable cats with shorter limbs. A suitable home supports natural movement while keeping repeated large drops and excess body weight to a minimum.

Movement and home setup

• Provide stable low platforms, steps or ramps, non-slip surfaces and a litter tray the individual kitten can enter comfortably.

• Use measured feeding and daily low-impact play to support muscle condition without adding avoidable load.

Coat and ongoing observation

• Brush short coats weekly and long coats more often according to coat density and tangling.

• Record the kitten’s usual movement and discuss persistent lameness, reluctance to move, breathing difficulty or a marked change in activity with a veterinarian promptly.
